On May 14, Zhang Kun, Director of the Technology Transfer Department at Peking University Zhengzhou New Materials Advanced Technology Research Institute, led a team to Henan Mingtai Aluminum Co., Ltd. for a special research project on industry-academia collaboration. The symposium was attended by Xue Yaojie, Party Secretary and Director of the Gongyi Science and Technology Bureau; Wang Jueyu, Director of the Gongyi Science and Technology Service Center; and representatives from Mingtai Aluminum’s R&D center.
During the technical discussion, both parties focused on key technologies for the green transformation of the aluminum industry, particularly delving into core topics such as smelting impurity removal, carbon capture, and carbon trading needs. Mingtai Aluminum’s R&D team systematically presented the company’s technological breakthroughs in areas such as recycled aluminum grade preservation, waste heat recovery systems, and digital carbon management platforms. The two sides exchanged insights on carbon reduction practices and jointly explored future development directions for the aluminum processing industry in terms of high-quality growth and transformation.
